THE
WAL ROBBINS STORY
Back in 1963 Wallace E Robbins started his own Building Company.
Working out of his home office in Fairfield Heights, he designed
and constructed small home additions and garages as a sole trader,
assisted by his wife Daphne and a small band of tradesmen. The growth
of the business necessitated a move to commercial premises at Fairfield
Heights in 1969.
In 1970 Wal Robbins & Company Pty. Ltd. was formed and
enjoyed great success specialising in additions for a variety of
clientele, including Defence Service home extensions.
Ray Fielder (a nephew of Daphne and Wal) joined the business in
August 1971 to assist with the management of the ever-increasing
workload.
Tragedy struck in December of the same year, when Wal died suddenly
of a heart attack. This left the Company in Ray's control.
The following year the Builders' Licencing Board was formed. This
governmental regulatory Board was set up to protect consumers from
shoddy and incompetent builders. Licences were granted to builders
with sufficient qualifications, ability, experience and sound financial
management.
Wal Robbins & Company Pty. Ltd. was issued with Licence number
4403.
Ever expanding to accommodate the demand for quality home improvements,
the Company constructed all types of additions and alterations over
the years - always and only improving family homes.

With the resignation and retirement of Ray's Aunt and co-director
Daphne Robbins in 1998, the business was reformed as 
Pty. Limited, retaining all our highly trained and vastly experienced
staff and tradesmen.
To comply with regulations, a new Licence was obtained - Licence
number 96727c.
Ray's leadership has instilled strong teamwork among the staff,
management and tradesmen, who all constantly strive to exceed customer
expectations.
Strong work ethic, camaraderie and pride of workmanship provide
the excellent results achieved by the Company. This is confirmed
by many letters of commendation from our clients who appreciate
the services provided by our friendly and efficient staff and especially
our hard working, considerate and polite tradesmen
Today we enjoy the status of being one of the leading builders of
home additions in Sydney's greater west. |
